Tasso Katselas Associates, Inc. is currently involved in the design,
planning, and construction of a one-mile oval auto-racing track in the Midwest. The
180,000 SF facility will provide stadium seating for over 60,000 spectators, with luxury
skyboxes seating an additional 1200 spectators.
The project encompasses all elements required of a racing and spectator
sport venue, including food and concessions; ticketing functions; food service and
catering facilities; conference and meeting rooms; international media accommodations;
state-of-the-art sound systems and scoreboard displays; support facilities for
participants; and circulation elements for more than 100,000 spectators.
The facility provides parking and vehicular circulation on a very
constricted site for approximately 20,000 vehicles. Substantial parking space for
spectators must be provided, along with parking and circulation for racecar transporters
and delivery vehicles. The $51 million project is slated for completion in the fall of
1999.
